Blind Guitarist: Show Off the Talent

People may think that sightless people cannot do anything better than normal people. That is not correct actually. There are many proofs that people can see why sightless is not the real barrier to develop the talents. One of the proofs is blind guitarist. In music industry of America, blind guitarists have an important part here. The blind guitarists can show off their talent in musical job. They have a great talent in playing guitar. They can play it as well as normal people do. It is also possible if the playing of blind guitarists is better than normal people. Actually, people cannot judge the others’ talent only from physical appearance.

There are many blind guitarists that can show off their talent in front of public. They can contribute their talent in musical industry in America. Blind Boy Fuller is one of the most popular blind guitarists that are ever been in this world. Blind Boy Fuller is a guitarist who takes a part in blues genre. He was very popular in the year 1935 until 1941. He had composed many songs that make other people really appreciate of him and his opuses. Boy Fuller recorded more than 120 songs which are composed by him. Then, he also recorded his own songs like Lost Lover Blues and Step It up and Go. This blind guitarist passed away because of kidney failure in the age 33. That was in 1941.

Another blind guitarist is Jeff Healy. He was very popular as well as Blind Boy Fuller. He arose in the late of 1980s. He had a cancer named retinoblastoma in his eyes. This cancer made him sightless. This illness attacked him when he was one year old. However, Jeff Healy did not annoyed by his condition which is sightless. He still could play guitar as his hobby. It made him have different style in playing guitar. He usually rested his guitar in his lap. He also played his guitar with his left hand and placed it over his top of neck. In 1988, he released his album titled See the Light. It was the best seller album of him. Jeff Healy died in 2008 because of cancer but his opus never dies. Many people appreciate it until now. Actually, there are so many blind guitarists that have given their opus in the music industry. It shows that the physical condition does not give a big effect to block people’s talent. Blind guitarists have shown how they develop their talent and show off in front of public.
