True artists are people who dedicate themselves for the media they had chosen in the beginning of the art careers and achieve the highest level of performance that can be attained by the human skill. Such people are indeed rare. The guitarist Steve Vai is one of those rare people who had attained the highest performance level with the instrument that he had chosen consciously in this 13rd year. The evidence for his dedication toward his art has been numerous: he had obtained three Grammy Awards and he is a musician of three generation since he started his career in 1980s and still exists until today.
Rock lovers certainly will chant the name of the the guitarist Steve Vai asone of the most adorable musicians in the world. From his long experience and career, he had developed his own distinct playing style, concept and execution. While he has extraordinary technical skill with the most popular instrument in the world, he had also developed a skill for works which are more conceptual in nature. That is why he is also a composer and in fact he first gain popularity with Frank Zappa as an instrument transcriber for the maestro’s band although he later was asked to perform as a full band member. The guitarist steve Vai had performed with scores of prominent musicians. The list of his works and performance include the remarkable names like David Lee Roth, Ozzy Osborne, Billy Sheehan, Frank Zappa, Alcatrazz and Whitesnake. With so much experience in the industry, he had enough resources to establish his own label, namely the Favored Nations. However, his works as a producer is less famous than his works as a performer in the music stages. His style makes his former teacher, the well known Joe Satriani, invites him to join the G3 tour series.
Years of experience and performance obviously make the guitarist steve Vai conscious of the new style in music appreciation and education. Thus in 2010 he released several track singles as VaiTunes which are available on his personal website, Amazon and iTunes. In March 3, 2011, he was involved in the world record for the largest online guitar in cooperation with Berklee college of Music. In this pioneering activity, he works with hundreds of international community members which marked the birth of the online music education. In cooperation with the same musical institution, he also had initiated the twelve week online course, which is dubbed as Steve Vai Guitar Techniques.
