More than three decades after Jackson Browne and Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE) planned the five-night No Nukes concert event, some of the same artists are reuniting for a new No Nukes show. Browne, Crosby, Stills and Nash and Bonnie Raitt all will take part in a benefit concert on August 7 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in
Mountain View, California.
Proceeds will go to MUSE and the concert will seek to bring awareness of nuclear energy in the wake of the Japanese earthquakes. Although many of the original No Nukes musicians are playing the show, the bill also features younger artists such as Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and Jason Mraz.
“It can’t just be the same old [expletive] suspects,” Graham Nash told Rolling Stone. “Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine is an incredibly powerful speaker and singer.”
Original performers Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty have not been confirmed for the show, although Nash said that “big names” will be added.
